About
I have been involved with Belgians since 1989 living near Edmonton, Alberta at that time. My first Groenendael's were from the Torbrook Kennels. In 1992 Windmar was formally registered with CKC and in 1993 I had my first litter with Ch. Torbrook's Elsa CD HIC. Due to later health issue's with the dam, Elsa was spayed. In 1997 I acquired a female from the Spitfire Kennels (Ch. Spitfire Lonestar Jamboree HIC) who became my foundation female and she lived up to the task in every way. Bree produced 4 litters of which had some lovely companions as well as some wonderful working dogs. Some of her offspring went on to produce/sire litters themselves. In 2001 I relocated to Southern Alberta. My current girl (Ch. Isengard's Zsuree at Windmar RA PCD HS CGN IAC ICC S-TN-O S-TG-N S-HP-N/Am RN ) is from Isengard Kennels.
All my breeding stock is OFA'd for hips and elbows, eyes Cerf'd and seizure free.
I enjoy being involved in the community with my Belgians and have found many fun activities and sports to be involved in over the years. I am a long time member of CKC as well as the Belgian Shepherd dog club of Canada. For many years I have enjoyed membership with SAWDA (Southern Alberta Working Herding Dog Assoc) and with my dogs have attended Pet Expos, Parades, Pet visitation at Seniors Centers, Community Event, Festivals, Carting Events, Agility Demos...and the list is on going! I most enjoy agility and herding and have embarked on a new adventure with livestock. I have and continue to trial my Belgians in Obedience, Rally, Agility, and Herding as well as Conformation.
